List of pests or insects, who are environment friendly and help in natural or organic farming.


1) Lady-beetle– They daily consume about 5-10 eggs of the enemy pests. The younger variety of lady -nettles consume more than their adult counterparts.


2) Adult ground beetle: They protect rice plants by killing and consuming ‘badami’ insects or pests , which attack paddy fields.


3) Urchunga-They kill and destroy the harmful insects, especially the off-springs and eggs of such harmful pests .Their preys include harmful ‘leaf -hoppers to ‘chungi’.


4) Grass-hoppers-They are more active and night .They can destroy up to 3-4 bed of eggs of a particular variety of pests known as’ majra poka’.


5) Water bugs-They are present in paddy fields and protect such fields immensely. They are fond of harmful soft bodied pests.


6) Mirid plant bugs-They can kill upto 3-7, harmful bed of eggs produced by different harmful pests, per day.

7) Polytocsus or adult plant bugs-These farmer -friendly pests are usually grey in colour, and they prey on insects, larger than themselves, and are useful to destroy harmful pests of different species.


8) Damzel fly-They roam beneath the leaves of paddy plants and they destroy harmful grass-hoppers, among other harmful insects.


9) Ear wig -They destroy harmful pests like ‘majra poka’.They are capable of destroying about 20-30, pests per day.


10) Spider-They prey on about 5-10 harmful pests like ‘majra poka ‘ and ‘moth’, per day. They are nocturnal creatures and give over-night protection.


11) Long-faced spider-They destroy leaf-hoppers and other different harmful insect -species.
